About the exhibition
The Five Pillars exhibition will celebrate Muslim identities and Islamic culture at Loughborough University, and regionally, by bringing together students, doctoral researchers, staff, community members and residents in one showcase. The exhibition aims to:
- Highlight the lived experience of Muslims
- Showcase the contributions of Islam and Muslims
- Explore the role of Islam in shaping new futures
The exhibition will be curated by Dr Kerri Akiwowo, Senior Lecturer in Textiles, School of Design and Creative Arts. The exhibition is part of a larger research project. The 'Lived experiences and improved futures for Muslim students and staff at Loughborough University' research project is funded by the Aziz Foundation and its Muslim Friendly Universities Programme and by Loughborough University. The project team consists of Professor Line Nyhagen and Doctoral Researchers Rafia Arshad and Ellie Moore, together with representatives from the LSU Islamic Society, The Chaplaincy and other stakeholders.
The winner will receive a £200 cash prize
Participation is open to all and entries from Muslims and non-Muslims are welcome
Deadline for entries: 5pm on Monday 10 February 2025
