Long-Term Maintenance Sub-Committee

Terms of Reference

  1. To prioritise Long Term Maintenance (LTM) work across the entire University estate, (including London campus), including student accommodation, sport and IT projects and recommend an annual programme of LTM projects to SPaRC Part B. This will include:
    1. A 5-year view of the LTM programme, showing the total value of projects where they span more than one financial year.
    2. Prioritisation of LTM projects i.e., Health, Safety, Environmental and Compliance based on the specified prioritisation criteria below.
    3. Critical path issues i.e., enabling major capital works.
    4. Identification of capital project stage approvals already in place.
  2. To recommend LTM projects to SPaRC Part B for approval in line with the major capital projects and minor works projects approval processes agreed for LTM projects. LTM also improves projects for implementation.
  3. To monitor the LTM programme and individual projects to ensure delivery within the allocated budget, advising SPaRC Part B of the overall budget position on a quarterly basis.
  4. To ensure LTM planning takes account of the inter-relationship between capital works, other campus improvement initiatives and major events (e.g., NSS, University Open Days, exam periods).
