Background:
Francesco obtained his bachelor's and master's degrees in aerospace engineering at Polytechnic of Turin, respectively in 2013 and 2016. Following this, he gained experience in the aerospace sector in Spain until 2020. He then pursued a PhD in Magnetohydrodynamics in AAE department at Loughborough University, focusing his research on the behaviour of electrically conductive fluids in magnetically confined nuclear fusion reactors. Upon completion of the PhD in 2024 he started working as Research Associate in the same department. In May 2025, he was awarded one of the Vice-Chancellor Independent Research Fellowships.
