This talk will be delivered by a guest lecturer, Dr Amy Pearson, on the topic of celebrating neurodiversity in research.
Amy is an Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology at Durham University and a core member of the Centre for Neurodiversity & Development. Amy is an autistic researcher, and her work focuses on understanding factors which impact on positive outcomes among autistic and neurodivergent people across the lifespan, particularly interpersonal relationships and identity.
The talk aims to recognise how neurodivergent people have been involved in research, how this has benefited research and furthered our understanding, and to raise awareness of some of the needs of neurodivergent people participating in research, and adaptations that can be made to improve their experience.
