Joining the AI Conversation at Loughborough

At Loughborough, staff and students are exploring how to use AI responsibly and creatively. No matter your role or area of interest, there are opportunities to engage, exchange ideas, and explore how AI might support you.

The AI Readiness PMB is shaping the University’s overall approach to AI, carefully balancing opportunities with challenges. Their guidance ensures AI adoption aligns with Loughborough’s broader strategic objectives.

To effectively integrate AI into teaching, learning, and assessment, the Education and Student Experience Committee oversees the pedagogical and strategic approach, seeking to maintain high quality and standards as innovation advances.

Bringing AI to life in education requires dedicated effort, and the AI in Education (AIED) Group is leading this charge. Through internal and external workshops, they champion responsible AI use, develop AI-powered assessment tools, and actively promote inclusivity to ensure AI benefits everyone.

For Professional Services colleagues interested in exploring AI’s impact on their day-to-day roles, the AI Working/Interest Group offers a practical space to share experiences, stay informed, and collaborate on smaller AI projects. Additionally, Professional Services teams play a broader role in supporting AI governance, compliance, and responsible practice across the University. Join the AI Working/Interest Group.

Staff from all areas have opportunities to expand their AI knowledge and discuss ethical considerations through the AIED Community of Practice. Regular meetings and events allow staff to exchange best practices and explore how AI can meaningfully support teaching and learning. Join the AI in Education (AIED) Group and Community of Practice.

The DigiTech Network, hosted by the School of Science, is a collaborative network connecting students and staff across the University. It organises workshops, CPD training, and innovative projects in AI, animation, and virtual and extended reality (VR/XR). By fostering stronger collaboration between staff and students, DigiTech also aims to highlight Loughborough’s innovation publicly and create valuable exposure for the University. Join the DigiTech Network.

AI is already shaping the future of education. If you're interested in being part of this ongoing conversation, consider joining one of Loughborough's dedicated groups and discover how AI can support your work.
