Celebrate the launch of Loughborough University’s Sustainability Strategy

On Friday 9 May, the University is delighted to be formally launching its new Sustainability Strategy, and you’re invited to join us.

Taking place from 12pm-2pm at the University Stadium on the East Midlands campus, this is an exciting opportunity for members of our University community to hear more about the future of sustainability at the University, and the ambitions of the Strategy’s impact across not only the University but the wider community.

The event will include a keynote from Vice-Chancellor Professor Nick Jennings and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Professor Dan Parsons. Following this, there will be a panel discussion with a range of staff and students from across the University who will discuss the work they are doing in this space, how it supports the strategy and why it’s important.

The day will also be an opportunity to network with staff, students and some of our campus partners. Attendees can also experience a ‘plant-forward’ lunch menu created with our sustainability principles of using locally sourced produce.

Sustainability Manager Elliott Brown commented: “As we launch our new Sustainability Strategy, it's vital to recognise the collective effort required to make meaningful change. At Loughborough University, we’re committed to fostering a culture of sustainability across every aspect of campus life.

“This event is an opportunity to find out how we will reduce our environmental impact and the innovative work being done by our staff and students. Together, we can create a more sustainable future for our community and beyond. I encourage everyone in our University to come along, share their ideas, and collaborate to drive our sustainability goals forward. Let's make a difference together.”

Bookings are now open for the event – please register your details before 30 April 2025.
