Opportunity for students to apply for University Prizes and Travel Scholarships

Did you know that as a student you can apply for a number of prizes and travel bursaries?

Each year, Loughborough University offers several fantastic opportunities for students to enhance their learning experience and expand their knowledge in their chosen subject area. This year we are delighted to announce that we have a number of prizes for which students are able to nominate themselves.  

More information about each of these can be read below: 

Lilian Elizabeth Bowmaker Fund 

A £300 bursary to assist a student to attend the British Science Festival (organised by the British Science Association), or a meeting of another learned society relevant to the academic interests of the recipient.  

Dennis Holt Travel Prize  

A scholarship to the value of £400 to be awarded to a student from the School of Design and Creative Arts at Loughborough University who, in the opinion of the Assessor Panel, has made significant progress during their course and has submitted the best proposal for what would be achieved through their proposed travel.  

Ursula Lockley Travel Bursary 

A bursary or bursaries to the total value of £600 to assist individual students or groups of students to undertake activities to promote Anglo-German relations.  

Loughborough College of Education Commemorative Awards (School specific) 

An annual award or awards to the total value of £600 given to assist students studying English, Drama, Geography, Sport and Exercise Sciences and Design, to enable them to participate in extra-curricular educational activities.  

John Guest Phillips Travelling Scholarship 

Two annual travelling scholarships to the value of £500 may be awarded to registered full-time postgraduate research students. The purpose of the scholarships is to ensure that promising research students are given the opportunity to extend their knowledge of their subject, either within this country or overseas.
