The Fruit Routes orchard on a sunny day.

Mark the spring equinox with Fruit Routes

On 21 March from 3pm-5pm, students, staff and the local community are invited for an afternoon of ritual and ceremony in the Barefoot Orchard to mark the spring equinox.

The spring equinox marks the beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, signifying a time of renewal and the return of longer days and warmer weather.

During the event, there will be a relaxed space to make herbal tea parcels and explore our equinox intentions.

Isabel George, founder of EnviroWomenUK, will share her practice in the use of herbs and Mita Solanky, Fruit Routes artist, will hold the space for us as we pass through spring equinox.

This event is free and all are welcome, book your place now.

The Barefoot Orchard is on level ground but please be aware that there is not a dropped kerb leading directly into this space. If you have any specific accessibility requirements that you think we should know about, please let us know in advance by emailing Sustainability@mailbox.lboro.ac.uk or LUArts@lboro.ac.uk and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Fruit Routes is a trail of edible fruit and nut trees on campus, which everyone is welcome to explore. They host regular events on campus to help you engage with Fruit Routes and connect to nature.

For more information about the event, visit the Fruit Routes event page.
