The event welcomed people from across the University to network and celebrate women at Loughborough. 

There were activities for kids as well as presentations from the Maia committee, discussing projects the network has worked on and supported over the last year. Network sponsors Professor Rachel Thomson and Veronica Moore also shared stories of the women that inspire them.  

Maia welcomed external speaker Carol Leeming MBE, who read one of her poems, talked about intersectionality, inspirational women, action, belonging, inspiration, cohesion and the importance of women's networks. 

This was also an opportunity to award certificates to colleagues nominated for the Inspirational Women Awards. There were four categories for the awards, Action, Cohesion, Belonging and Inclusion and Inspirational Person Award. Over 140 people were nominated in total and the full list is available online.
