Loughborough teams shortlisted for HEIST Awards

We are excited to announce that Loughborough colleagues have been shortlisted for six HEIST Awards across five categories.

The HEIST Awards celebrate excellence and innovation within education marketing across the higher and further education sectors.

Shortlisted entries from Loughborough are as follows:

Imagine legally not being able to mention the major event you’re covering. This is what Loughborough faced during the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The University wanted to amplify our strong involvement, showcasing our enviable sporting ecosystem and academic expertise around the Games. The campaign, which lasted eight weeks, targeted current and prospective students, alumni, partners, local community, media, and policymakers through a robust content strategy – all while avoiding protected terminology.

The World Can’t Wait campaign has brought the University’s Creating Better Futures. Together strategy to life.

Through highly targeted content marketing, so far the campaign has engaged and excited global audiences with our institutional vision (internationally engaged, research-intensive) and purpose (advance knowledge, wisdom and understanding; inspire, empower and enrich; create regional, national and global impact).

  • Best event experience: The AULP Conference and Inaugural Awards 2024.

The conference was a collaboration between the Loughborough Legal Services team, Loughborough Sport and the AULP Membership Officer.

The two-day event was held in the University’s Teaching Hub, offering an exhibition and refreshment space, plus various teaching and lecture spaces for different sessions. Attendees heard from legal experts, peers and wellbeing specialists and there were opportunities to network and engage with sponsors and exhibitors.

Through a new long-term collaboration with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Center for Transportation and Logistics (MIT-CTL), Loughborough established the UK SCALE Centre as the most recent member of the MIT Global SCALE Network in June 2024.

The UK SCALE Centre is a significant milestone in the development of the UK’s expertise at building supply chain resilience and sustainability for the digital age. The SCALE Centre will act as a convener for stakeholders from across higher education, regional and national policy, the supply chain profession, and forward-thinking businesses.

  • Rising Star Award: Tansy Wright and Jess Greenough

Tansy Wright, Graphic and Digital Designer, has been part of the University’s Design team for just under three years. In this short time, Tansy has made a huge impact. She has consistently demonstrated exceptional creative talent, professionalism and dedication to her craft, making significant contributions to the University’s brand campaigns, advertising and other key strategic projects. Her humble yet driven approach has earned her a strong reputation across teams. This combination of talent, hard work and humility has firmly established her as a rising star within the University.

Previous Loughborough staff member Jess Greenough was also nominated in this category. Jess has proved to be an extraordinarily talented and valuable member of the Marketing and Advancement department since her recruitment. Her rotation through various teams has given her a wealth of experience and her rapid progression to the highly independent role of Marketing Officer demonstrated her capabilities and motivation. Jess is continuing to develop her career and is now overseeing marketing events activity at the University of Buckingham.

The winners of the HEIST Awards will be announced at an awards evening on 10 July.
