Elections Now Open for Elected Staff Vacancies on University Council

Council is the governing body of the University and is responsible for its strategic direction and overall governance. Please refer to the website to find Council’s primary responsibilities and its formal powers are set out in Statute XIII.

Staff eligible to vote will be sent a ballot via email and voting is undertaken online using a secure system that retains no personal data.

Non-Academic Staff
One vacancy for a member of the staff other than the Academic Staff elected from within their own number. Only non-academic staff are eligible to vote in this category.
Ballot open from Friday 30th May, closes Friday 13th June 5pm.

Members of the Senate
Two vacancies for members of the Senate, being members of the Academic Staff, elected by the Senate. Only Senate members are eligible to vote in this category.
Ballot open from Wednesday 28th May, closes Wednesday 11th June 5pm.

Academic Staff
Professor Matthew Inglis and Professor Sheryl Williams are the elected members of the Academic Staff elected by the Academic and Academic-Related Staff members of the General Assembly and their term of office runs to 31 July 2026.
