Resistance trained and untrained participants needed for research investigating
Dear Loughborough Student/Staff Member,
I’d like to kindly invite you to take part in an exciting Research Study we are currently conducting (Study Reference Number: 21355)
We require participants to compare differences in central nervous system characteristics of individuals with and without prior upper and lower body resistance training experience.
Study participation - what's involved
The total time commitment for participants is estimated to be approximately 4 hours for participants, split across the following tasks:
- Familiarisation: ~1 h
- Test session visit 1 (lower body): ~1.5 h
- Test session visit 2 (upper body): ~1.5 h
Eligibility criteria:
- Men and women
- Between 18-40 years of age
- Healthy (with no injury or any underlying disease)
- Resistance-trained group: >2 years of regular resistance training experience
- Recreationally active group: Active but no systematic training of any kind
- No history of epilepsy or seizure
- Not pregnant
- Not taking any medication
- Non-smoker
- BMI < 30kg/m2
