Profile

Oli Buckley is a Professor of Cyber Security at Loughborough University, with a career spanning academia, industry, and government collaborations. His research explores cyber security, AI-driven fraud, misinformation, and digital deception, with a strong focus on the human aspects of security. His work includes behavioural biometrics, insider threat detection, and the ethical implications of AI in decision-making.

He has secured over £3 million in funding for research projects from EPSRC, Innovate UK, and Responsible AI UK, including projects on conversational AI trust, AI literacy through gamification, and behavioural analysis for security. As an advocate for cyber security awareness, he has created educational tools such as a cyber escape room and graphic novels aimed at broadening engagement in cyber security.
