Inclusive Engineering Excellence Hub

The Inclusive Engineering Excellence Hub (IEEH) provides students with professional skills, social and wellbeing opportunities and industry insights. It aims to foster inclusivity and empower all students to become future leaders in engineering.

Benefiting from Royal Academy of Engineering (RAEng) Diversity Impact Programme funding, the Hub will ensure an inclusive environment for students to celebrate diversity, receive professional career and coaching support, engage in engineering activities, ease cost-of-living pressures, socialise, and focus on self-care.

Based in West Park Teaching Hub (WPT007), the Hub offers opportunities to for students to:

  • Join daily student ambassador drop-in sessions during term time between 12.30 -1.30pm and 3-5pm, tailored to attendees’ interests or needs.
  • Gain industry insights through activities like Vex robotics, Airgineers, and Empathy Lab equipment.
  • Connect with groups including the Women’s Engineering Society and Engineers Without Borders.

Hear from our students

This initiative, providing unique opportunities for underrepresented students, exemplifies our impactful approach to fostering an inclusive engineering community and setting new standards for the sector. We strive to provide enhanced education and better engagement with under-represented engineering students throughout their higher education experience through cross-school initiatives.
