Session 1: Learnings from a Career in Banking. Former Loughborough Graduate, Ross McEwan, shares his career journey which began at the height of the 2008 financial crisis. Through roles at British and American banks, in London and New York, Ross describes various steps, challenges and tips leading to his current role as Managing Director at Citi, a Sales leader working closely with the Tech industry.

 

Session 2: The Future of Finance - uncovering the hidden value of the payments and treasury ecosystem making the global economy tick. Ross breaks down the role of the Treasury and Trade business - often referred to as the crown jewel of Citi - to understand the value of its financial pipes, moving money around the world facilitating global trade. This session will touch on traditional corporate banking, payment and working capital solutions, as well as the role of innovative technology such as digitization, ecommerce, APls, open banking, blockchain and tokenisation.

 

Ross McEwan  runs Technology, Media and Telecommunications at Citi for the UK, Europe, Middle East & Africa clusters within the Treasury and Trade Services business. He also leads Citi’s eCommerce solutions team in the region. He is based in London and has been with Citi near 5 years, and in the industry for 17 having previously spent time at Bank of America, Merrill Lynch and RBS, in London and New York, with roles across sales, product and advisory. He’s qualified Cert ACT ICM has a BSc Maths & Economics from Loughborough University.
