Loughborough Business School secures CIM accreditation for Marketing degree programmes

The Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has awarded Accredited Degree status to the recently refreshed BSc Marketing and MSc Marketing programmes.

With this CIM accreditation, these degree programmes now offer students direct exemptions from certain modules of CIM’s professional marketing qualifications, providing a simplified route to achieving these well-regarded and industry recognised certifications.

Students on the BSc Marketing and MSc Marketing programmes will enjoy benefits including:

  • Exemptions reducing the assessments for CIM qualifications from three modules to one, applicable for up to five years post-graduation.
  • Up to 66% reduction in the time required to complete CIM qualifications.
  • Savings of up to £300 in assessment fees.
  • Access to The Marketing Club and events like The Pitch, providing additional opportunities for learning and professional networking.

Programme Lead for the MSc in Marketing, Rachael Mabe said: “This accreditation underscores an integral alignment between our programmes and current professional marketing standards. Our recently refreshed programme content puts a strong emphasis on developing practical, industry relevant knowledge and skills, and this accreditation further solidifies those core principles.

“We believe that this successful accreditation is a huge benefit to our students, offering them streamlined pathways to professional qualifications and career development.”

Maureen Wincott, Head of Learning Partnerships at CIM, said: “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Loughborough University. Students now only need to pass one module to complete the CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing or Professional Digital Marketing, or two modules to complete the CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing or Professional Digital Marketing. This will help students kickstart their marketing careers and fast-track their development.

“We look forward to continuing to work closely with Loughborough University to help students achieve their professional goals and gain valuable recognition with employers in the marketing and business industries.”
