Dr Gabrielle Hale is a Lecturer in Psychology within the School of Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences. She joined Loughborough University in February 2025, following her position as a Lecturer in Clinical Psychology at the University of South Wales from 2017 to 2025.
Gabrielle earned her BSc in Psychology (2016) and MSc in Clinical and Abnormal Psychology (2017) from the University of South Wales. Her MSc dissertation focused on the psychosocial impact of women’s reproductive health problems, which led to the development of the PERIOD-QOL, a 10-item scale measuring the effect of menstruation and menstrual problems on women’s quality of life.
Gabrielle completed her PhD at the University of South Wales (2017-2024). Her research investigated the role of community-based programmes, delivered by the charitable foundations of UK professional football clubs, in promoting young people’s mental health.
