Annual leave
Annual leave entitlement and how to request annual leave.
Doctoral Researchers are entitled to 30 working days’ annual leave per year as well as public holidays and University closure days.
All leave should be requested using the annual leave request form. This should be approved by your primary supervisor and returned to the relevant member of administrative staff in your School.
The annual leave entitlement renews annually on the anniversary of your start date. Unused leave cannot be carried forward into the next year. You are encouraged to take your annual leave each year to ensure you have a break from your studies.
Where the period of leave is expected to exceed one calendar month, the Director of Doctoral Programmes for your School or his/her nominee will agree with the Doctoral College Office whether you should take a formal leave of absence.
