Mandatory training
All Doctoral Researchers are required to participate in mandatory training within one month of completing online registration. Some courses will also need to be renewed throughout your studies.
KnowB4 (Information Security) training
The University’s Information Security training is via a package called KnowB4. You will be sent the link as part of your registration emails, but you can also access the training here.
You must complete this training within 4 weeks of your online registration and complete the refresher training every 12 months after registration. You will receive reminders about the training.
If you do not complete the initial training, or refresher training, in a timely manner then this may result in your IT credentials being withdrawn.
Mandatory Training in Schools
The mandatory training required by each academic school will differ depending on the nature of your research. Your school will inform you of any required training upon registration.
Doctoral College Induction
You are expected to attend a Doctoral College induction upon registering with the University. It will help you to understand what a doctorate is all about, how it is regulated, and recognise some of the issues that you are likely to face during your research.
