How and where you work

This page contains some of the ways in which you can choose how you work in terms of hours and locations. It also profiles some of the benefits of working at either of the Loughborough or London campuses.

The way that we work has changed dramatically in recent years. For some roles this means that work can be completed away from the campus. Other roles, like catering or facilities staff mean that dynamic working is not so easy.

Our campus at Loughborough in the East Midlands is a huge site with lots of green spaces, interesting buildings and on site sports areas, making it a unique university campus.

Our campus at Loughborough University London, was built as part of the legacy of the London Olympics and is a brand new building in the heart of the new development.

Dynamic working describes working arrangements in which the working location and, to some degree, working patterns can be flexible from week to week

Flexi Time Scheme

Available for Grades 1 - 5 and technical staff that allows you to vary your start and finish time.

Where you work

Burleigh Wood is an ancient woodland on the very edge of the campus that is managed and cared for by Loughborough University.

This is a wonderful space to take a moment from your day to wonder in the biodiversity of this 1000+ woodland . Throughout the year there are guided walks and talks as the seasons move along. From Bluebell walks, to dawn chorus, take a look at this exceptional natural wonder.

Everest Lounge is a Nepalese, Indian and Tibetan Kitchen in Loughborough and they are offering Loughborough University staff 20% off food when dining in, or 15% off for food delivery or collection orders. The restaurant is open every day (except Monday) from 5pm.

Details:

1. Exclusive Dine-in Offer: 20% discount per transaction on food bills. There are no restrictions regarding meal selection, number of guests, or the day of visit.

2. Advance booking is required to ensure the best service possible.

The vision of Fruit Routes is to plant fruit, nut and edible plants along footpaths and cycle paths across the University campus creating a spring snowfall of blossom and an autumnal abundance of fresh fruit and berries for harvesting, eating and distributing.

LU Food and Drink Reward Club

Collect points and get discounts on food and drink across the Loughborough campus.

Loughborough Gold

The apiary on campus was set up in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength. It is home to between 6-10 colonies of honeybees.
