Gym floor classes
Here at Loughborough, we have a wide range of gym floor classes as well as studio classes, to ensure our members can make the most of their fitness journey here with us. From Hyrox to Abs Blast, there is something for everyone.
Based in our two gyms on campus, Powerbase and Holywell Fitness Centre, we currently offer a range of different 30-45 minute gym floor classes, available to all members at no additional charge. You will be guided by our expert Fitness Coaches and motivated by working out alongside others. Classes can be booked by non members at our class pay as you go fee.
Holywell Fitness Centre Gym Floor Classes
Ab Blast
This session will strengthen and tighten your core and abdominals. This will help improve posture, improve strength and become the foundation of your workout as you continue to improve your core conditioning.
TRX
Suitable for all ages & abilities. Be in control as you use your bodyweight and gravity as resistance to build strength, improve coordination, balance, flexibility and joint stability.
Wake Up Circuits
This circuit workout which includes mobility, resistance and cardio training to get the day started, the right way.
Mobility Workshop
6week rotation, implements a 3 part system to help increas range of motion and strength at joints.
Upper Body Strength
Have you hit a plateau with your pull-ups or would like to work towards achieving your first one unassisted?developing the strength/ technique and mobility to excel in Pull-ups. This workshop will be running over 3 week rotations.

Circuits
Circuit training consists of a consecutive series of timed exercises performed one after the other with varying amounts of rest between each exercise. An example of a simple circuit training workout might consist of push-ups, sit-ups, squats, chin-ups.
Core and Stability
Building a stable body and strong core reduces risk of injuries and improves everyday movement as well as sports performance across the board.
Plyo, Agility, Speed
Each session is designed to improve athletic performance though Plyometrics, Agility and Speed. Using the same techniques and methods used by our world class programs to build the total athlete. Expect to learn both the Why & the How of each Skill, Drill or Technique.
Learn to Lift series
L2L - Resistance
Over multiple sessions learn the fundamentals of Resistance training. Each session will be designed to help build both brain and body and leave you more confident in the use of movements and the equipment used to achieve them. This series of classes is designed for these new to resistance training.
Train to Train
Train to Train - Squat
Progression from the Learn to lift Classes. Each session the quality around the Powerlifting movements will be coached and developed throughout the session. Lifters will have needed to have been through the learn to lift classes prior to attending as this is a coached session.
