Our children's and adult swimming lessons follow Swim England's National Learn to Swim programme, ensuring the highest standard of teaching with an up-to-date syllabus and clearly defined progression levels.

Lessons are structured into age and ability groups

Children and adults are encouraged to develop their skills and progress through stages, receiving continual assessment from their teacher.

  • 18 months - 4 Years - Adult and Child, Duckling Stages 1 - 4
  • 4 years and under 16 - Children's Learn to Swim framework, Stages 1 - 7
  • Completed Stage 7 and under 16 - Children's Aquatic Skills framework, Swimming Stages 8 - 10
  • Completed Stage 7 and under 16 - Rookie Lifesaving
  • 16 Years and over - Adults Learn to Swim framework

Swimming Awards

Each Learn to Swim Stage Award has a list of specific outcomes that must be completed to earn the award.

The Learn to Swim Awards are divided into progressive stages, forming the core national syllabus for learning to swim. They are designed to reward the development of essential aquatic skills needed to be confident, competent, and safe in the water.
