Georgie Brock Taylor

Loughborough Lightning Netball have announced that young mid-courter Georgie Brock-Taylor has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague after sustaining an injury to her knee.

Stepping up to the NSL side for the first-time this season as a training partner, the 19-year-old Lincolnshire talent has enjoyed success at every level of Lightning’s structure, beginning her time in the U13 academy side and featuring for the U19 side at just 15 years old.

Lightning Head Coach Vic Burgess commented:

“Georgie is very talented athlete who has worked hard to progress through the Lightning Pathway. As the former Pathway head coach, I am really proud of her achievements to date.

“She has such a great future ahead of her along with her passion for netball and resilience, I have no doubt she will be focused and work hard to get back on the court, and we will fully support her on her journey.”

Kelsie Taylor will replace Brock-Taylor as training partner, joining the side for the remainder of the season. No stranger to what it takes to be the best, Taylor enjoyed title winning seasons with Manchester Thunder U17 and U19 sides before moving to the East Midlands in 2019 to study Sports Science at Nottingham Trent University.

Kelsie Taylor

Burgess commented on Taylor’s arrival, saying:

“Kelsie is a fantastic athlete on and off the court, she joined the Lightning Performance Pathway in 2019 and has progressed through to the Lightning U21 squad where she has been performing consistently. Although I am sad to see Georgie’s season cut short due to injury, I am excited that Kelsie has stepped up and really believe she deserves this opportunity.”
