Why did you choose to study your programme at Loughborough University?
It was one of the best colleges for the course I selected.
Why did you choose to continue onto further study?
After working in India for a few years, I felt it was time to upskill and make myself more competitive in the job market.
What were you doing before starting the programme?
I was working as a Salesforce Developer at Deloitte.
What did you love most about your course?
I really enjoyed the research aspect of the course—it was exciting to dive into new ideas and see how different technologies are shaping the world. My favourite module was Business Models and New Technologies because it involved a group project where we had to come up with an idea for a platform and pitch it. I was one of the presenters and it was a great hands-on learning experience.
What kind of support did you receive from the department and/or University?
The faculty was really supportive, and one of the best things was the extra sessions on coursework submissions. These were especially helpful for international students because they covered things like critical analysis, structuring arguments, and academic writing. The University also provided career workshops, networking events, and access to an extensive library, which made a huge difference. In fact the library was my favourite part of the campus! It has everything—quiet study areas, group spaces, and even a café.
I also got the chance to work on my dissertation with Dr Suzanne Elayan and Dr Martin Sykora, which turned out to be an incredible experience. The research project involved teams from all over the world, and Suzanne was super supportive throughout the whole process. In the end, I was lucky enough to have my research published, which was a huge highlight for me.
How did you find the social atmosphere/postgraduate community on campus?
Although the master's course was pretty fast-paced, I still managed to meet some great people through group projects and networking events. There are loads of opportunities to join clubs and societies if you want to.
How did your time at Loughborough develop your employability?
My time at Loughborough helped me a lot, especially with soft skills. I became more confident, learned to ask the right questions, and got comfortable in an international environment. The course also pushed me to work in diverse teams and improve my problem-solving skills, which have been really useful in my career.
What has been your career journey after your MSc?
After my master’s, I joined Capgemini in Denmark as a consultant. I got promoted earlier this year and now work as a senior consultant. My goal is to become a solution architect in the future.
