Description of the works
In advance of the main electrical shutdown over summer (14/7/25 – 8/8/25) we need to conduct an asbestos survey inside the main electrical switch panel that feeds Sir David Davies Building. We expect power to be switched off to the whole building from 0800hrs through to 1400hrs.
During this time there will be no general lighting or power.
Fire alarms will be operational throughout the shutdown, and emergency lighting should operate for the first 3 hours and may last longer, access to the building will be restricted during this work.
I thank you all in advance for your cooperation during these works. We have considered all options and best dates to cause the least impact on university operations.
